As we began doing the necessary leg work to put this business together, it became frightfully apparent that there are many places on the internet providing services for rather exorbitant fees, the same services that one can acquire for very little or for free. For example, there is a perfectly lovely site that charges $35 to set up an EIN for businesses. The IRS site on line, of course, generates an EIN for free – right where that other site goes to get an EIN for their customers. When searching the web remember to be clear about what it is you need. Enter the necessary information in the search field, being specific and succinct. This will save you time scrolling through unwanted sites. Also, we’re women. SHOP! Don’t just go to the first thing that comes up and assume that it is the best. In the previous example, the $35 site is the first that came up when searching “EIN”. The next few charged $8.95 and $6.95 respectively for this free service. Remember that “Search” is the operative word. Those sites that appear at the top of the list usually have enough money to pay for that placement. Guess where that money comes from – the consumers who pay for that site’s services or products. It may be worth your while to look a little further down the list to find a spot that is less expensive or more specific to your needs.
