    Crystals: Care and Feeding

Crystals are a gift from the Earth, Mother Earth, Mother Nature, God, The Universal One, The Goddess – however you view it, whatever you call your Higher Power, they are forms from nature and part of the basic makeup of our planet. They deserve respect, care and special handling. They were here before we were, forming long before the first bits of protoplasm crawled from the primordial ooze and proclaimed, “I am (wo)man!” They are VIP’s gifted to us to use for the greater good of all. We are their caretakers; and they, in turn, impart their many gifts to us – their energy, their stored knowledge, their spiritual integrity, their abilities. Crystals heal, teach, amplify the individual’s abilities, create energy, transmute or dissipate negativity, elevate the spirit and create atmospheres conducive to the improvement of the Earth and all its inhabitants – if used correctly and with the proper intent. Our pathways converged many eons ago and will continue as long as we understand their nature and their power and continue to use them properly.

We do not choose the crystals that come to us.
We are their caretakers, and they choose us.

Preparing your Stones

Clearing:
Crystals store vibrations. The vibrations can come from any number of sources – light, thought, sound, touch, to name a few. When you first acquire your crystals, after healing work, when you feel that they are storing something that you do not want stored or when they look dull or feel sluggish, it’s time for a clearing. There are several methods of clearing. Try them all and use the one that feels the most comfortable to you or seems the most effective for your stone. I use a variety of methods, using intuition to feel what individual crystals need. Some folks use the salt water method which, though effective, requires knowledge of the difference between friable and not friable stones. Salt can damage the surface of some crystals and some others are water soluble, Selenite for instance. In order to keep your stones safe without going through a long list of what kinds can handle salt and/or water or not, many crystal experts recommend using other methods that are less likely to cause damage.
Azeztulite, Citrine and Kyanite are self-cleaning.  Clear Quartz clusters, Carnelian and Blue Kyanite can be used to clean other stones. Simply place the crystals needing cleared on the cluster or on the Kyanite for 12 to 24 hours. Carnelian can be placed inside a bag containing other stones for the same time period to cleanse them. The quartz and the Carnelian will require cleansing by another method after the process is complete.  

Breath Method: Ground and center yourself. Make your intention to cleanse your crystal clear in your mind. Sit in a comfortable position and hold your crystal in your left hand between the thumb and forefinger, thumb on the bottom. Now place the thumb of your right hand on any face of the crystal and the right forefinger on the opposite face. As you hold your stone, form the intent of clearing it in your mind. Breathe in deeply through your nose. Blow the air out of your mouth with forceful intent at the crystal, as if you were blowing your intention to clear the crystal with your breath. Now move the thumb of your right hand to the next face of the crystal and moving your right forefinger to the next respective face of the crystal. Again breathe in deeply through your nose and forcefully, sending your intention to clear the crystal, blow the air out through your mouth directly at the crystal. Keep your intention for clearing your stone upper most in your mind, allowing your breath to carry your intention to the stone. Continue in this manner until all faces have been attended to.

Visualization Method: Ground and center yourself. Make your intention to cleanse your crystal clear in your mind. Sit in a comfortable position and hold your crystal in the palm of your dominant hand. Visualize it surrounded by white light, allowing the light to remove all negativity and any unwanted energies. Continue in this fashion until you feel the revitalization of the stone and until it is no longer cloudy or dull. This method requires complete concentration and no interruptions.

Smudging Method: Ground and center yourself. Light sage, cedar or sweetgrass incense and start it smoldering. Make your intention to clear your crystal your predominant thought. Hold the crystal between the thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand and move the crystal through the smoke for several minutes until it appears clear. A good test of this is to hold the crystal where the smoke will rise to it. If the smoke avoids the crystal, continue to move it through the smoke for a few more minutes. Test it again to see if the smoke surrounds the crystal or moves away from it. When the smoke surrounds the crystal (make sure there are no fans going in the room that will effect the direction that the smoke is blowing) it is cleared.

Singing Bowl Method: Ground and center yourself. Place your stones in a singing bowl and follow the instructions for the bowl. The sound vibrations will clear our crystals. This method comes highly recommended by those who use it. It tends to provide a deeper cleansing, reaching all the way to the center of the stone. It also charges stones at the same time.
Charging:
After performing any of the clearing methods above except the Singing Bowl Method, your crystal now requires charging, similarly to charging a battery. The most recommended method is to leave your crystals on a windowsill for 24 hours. Optimum charging comes from the crystal receiving energy from both the sun and the moon. It is most beneficial to charge during the Full Moon, although it is possible for charging to take place during other moon phases, as long as there is some moon light.   
Dedicating:
Ground and center yourself. Hold your crystal in both hands in front of you. Picture it surrounded by white light – light a candle to help the visualization. Say out loud to your stone, “I dedicate this crystal to the greatest good of all. May it be used in light and love.”
Programming:
You are now ready to program your crystal. Plan ahead of time for what each specific crystal will be used. Choose tasks that are relevant to the crystal itself so that its full energy can be put into the job you will be assigning to it (click here for a partial listing). Be specific about your needs and wants. How do you want this crystal to help you, someone else, or the planet? If you will be using it for healing, be specific about the part of the body and the problem with which you need help. If you are using it for self-improvement, be specific about the quality(ies) you are intending to enhance. Light a candle of the color that corresponds to your intent for the crystal. Ground and center yourself. Hold your crystal in both hands or place both hands on the crystal. Attune to your crystal. When you feel ready, concentrate on exactly what you want your crystal to do – be specific. State, “I program this crystal for [the purposes you have determined].” Allow stray thoughts to go back out of your mind and concentrate on the purpose for your crystal. As you concentrate on what you want your crystal to do, breathe in through your nose and breathe your purpose for your crystal out through your mouth, sending the intention into your crystal with your breath. Continue to visualize its purpose as you continue to breathe in through the nose and out, at the crystal, through your mouth, sending your intention with each outward breath. Continue until you feel that the crystal is ready. Now pass the crystal from right to left through the flame of the candle to seal in the intention.

Your crystal is now ready to use. It will hold the programming that you gave it until the next time you clear it. Remember that your crystal needs to be cleared, charged and re-programmed after healing work, when you feel that it is storing something that you do not want stored or when it looks dull or feels sluggish.

BLUE ANGELITE

This sky-blue opaque stone has an angelic quality and is appropriately named Blue Angelite.  Its home is in Peru.  It is within a stone’s throw of the famous Nazca Pampa, where the Nazca lines appear atop the plateau.  Many stories are told of a magical stone used by the native priests and magic men to transform their bodies so they could fly in their “higher etheric bodies.”  It is believed that Blue Angelite is the stone to which they refer.  This could account for the fact that they were able to see the line drawings of animals and birds as well as specific patterns on the Nazca Plateau.  The outlines formed by the lines can be distinguished only by air and no one is certain how they originated.  Some believe they were made by visitors from outer space; others think the native magic men drew them in an attempt to pay respect to the animal world, which provided food and clothing; still others think they are connected to astrology.

Blue Angelite first appeared in local native marketplaces in the late 1950’s.  Geologists noticed the stone in the mid 1970’s.  It was not until the late 1980’s that it was sent to the United States for a geological evaluation.  It is considered to be a member of the anhydrite family (anhydrite means “without water”) and was found to be a “one-of-a-kind” stone.  At that time, the G.I.A. declared it the newest gemstone on the planet.

Blue Angelite is very much like the Phoenix.  It helps restore damaged organs, bones and cells to their healthy, functional state.  It is important to wear or carry the blue stone on your person to receive full benefits of its powers.  Several case histories reveal the following results.

CASE 1:  A man with a brain tumor was receiving chemotherapy to reduce the tumor.  The pressure from the tumor was so intense his eyes became crossed resulting in blurred vision and continuous pain.  Doctors had little hope for this patient.  A Blue Angelite was given to him with the instruction to keep it with him continuously for seven days.  He did so, and by the eighth day, his tumor receded and the pain was minimal.  One week later, he was able to go to work.  Doctors were puzzled and stated they never knew chemotherapy to work so fast.

CASE 2:  A female medical doctor contracted a rare form of bacterium.  Her condition became critical with no chance for survival.  Her colleagues gave her a few days before she would die.  A friend brought her a Blue Angelite, and instructed her to keep it near her.  After four days, her condition began to improve; and she left the hospital to recuperate at home.  Upon arriving home, her husband dropped the Blue Angelite, breaking it into many pieces.  That night, her condition took a turn for the worse, and she returned to the hospital.  The family located another Blue Angelite, and she clutched it in her hand while awake.  After a few days, she again showed signs of improvement.   She finally did loose her battle to the rare illness, but she did buy a few more weeks of life.  The additional time helped her and the family prepare for her crossing.

CASE 3:  A multiple sclerosis patient purchased a Blue Angelite.  Her experiences were as follows.  The stone gave her insight into her chronic disease.  As she dealt with the issues that were directly linked to the M.S., she began to feel stronger in her mental body, as well as in the muscles of her physical body.  Each week she showed improvement in her battle against M.S, and its crippling grip.

Meditation is a new experience with a Blue Angelite.  Place it on your third eye, and you will notice a very deep, relaxed feeling.  As it quiets the mind almost instantly, it allows messages to flow from the subconscious.  Some individuals experienced pictures of their future flashing before them.  Monks, Buddhists, and others experienced in the art of meditation feel this opaque blue stone quickly brings a depth of meditation that can only be achieved after years of regular practice.  Individuals who are interested in personal psychic development should stroke the stone so they can contact their higher self.  It will remove the daily humdrum as it clears a path to the Higher Channels.  When you have reached the Higher Channel, either press the stone between your fingers or place it on your third eye.  You should feel different degrees of depth.  Ask mental questions at this time; and, most likely, you will get immediate answers to valid questions.

Blue Angelite is a stone of protection.  It protects its guardian from intended physical harm, as well as shielding psychic attacks sent by those working against the light.  Place a small piece of this sky blue stone above your door.  This will protect your home from intruders, mischievous spirits and those with unclean thoughts and intentions.  Many drivers keep Blue Angelite in their cars so that they are warned against ensuing danger and can, thus, avoid it.  This peaceful blue stone has many avenues of awareness.  It is a passport to other dimensions, as well as an awareness center for creativity.  Blue Angelite is no longer available in Peru.  A small deposit of less that thirty tons is now known to exist in Colorado.  Pieces of the sky blue stone were placed at the four corners of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal.  The following day, the FBI pulled a surprise inspection to investigate the toxic waste situation at the arsenal.  It could be said that calming Blue Angelite makes the wrong right again.

Mickey and the Crystal Show

The room is permeated with a positive energy that vibrates in the chest.  Doing anything but thinking happy thoughts is difficult.  This energy emanates for the display tables at the front of the room.  They are covered with crystals:  quartz points and clusters, blue kyanite wands, amethyst points and geodes, rose quartz candleholders, agate slabs and geodes – about 400 pounds of them.  As the room quiets down from the din of idle chitchat, a small woman with short, gray hair; a pretty, rather impish face and a bit of a lilt in her step moves to the side of the tables to speak.  She introduces herself as “Mickey, the Crystal Lady” and begins to tell the room about her special friends on the tables beside her.

Her instructions are simple and heart-felt, her voice melodious.  There is a calm about her that is not easily matched.  Her loving nature also fills the room.  She instructs her guests to trust their intuition, and reminds them that medicine men started using crystals for healing many centuries ago through the use of elixirs, the laying on of stones and meditation with stones.  Since there were no mineral shops or Ebay then, they had to use what they had available to them in whatever region they inhabited, indicating that, though some source material might suggest the use of a particular, exotic stone for a special purpose, an individual may find that a more common and less expensive stone might very well do the trick.  It is more important to relax, trust yourself and allow yourself to be guided to the crystals that are attuned to you.  When she was first becoming aware of her special ability, Mickey was working in a Las Vegas casino gift shop that stocked a limited amount of crystals.  A customer came in looking for a clear crystal because, “that was what her friend had”.  However, she kept being drawn to some blue crystals in another case.  Mickey eventually suggested to her that she might be happier with what was catching her eye.  A more satisfied customer left that shop that day.  She also reminds the group that the body craves what it needs, and they we will be led to stones that will serve those needs. 

She became acquainted with the uses of crystals about 13 years ago when she was on a special search of her own and was lead to several helpers and guides who have instructed her on her own individual path to enlightenment.  She is known as a Crystal Keeper and has the gift of matching crystals to the people who are in tune with those stones’ vibrations.

Lapis Lazuli -- stimulates enlightenment, enhances dream work and psychic abilities, stimulating spiritual power.   It teaches the power of the spoken word and brings deep inner harmony.  It is a powerful thought amplifier, stimulating the higher faculties of the mind and bringing objectivity and clarity.  It alleviates pain especially that of migraine headaches.

Lavender Chalcedony – helps acceptance of new situations, imparts mental flexibility and verbal dexterity, enhances listening skills, improves memory, improves self-perception, clears illnesses associated with weather changes, aids regeneration of mucus membranes, has an anti-inflammatory effect, lowers temperature and blood pressure, heals the lungs and clears the respiratory system.

Lepidolite -- assists one in openness and honesty, furthering the openness and honesty of those in close proximity.  It can induce the attribute of self-love, bringing child-like love and acceptance to the user.  It can assist in soothing the nervous system, stabilizing the flow of blood and calming the heart.

Mookaite – known as Australian Jasper, it provides a useful balance between inner and outer experiences, imparting both a desire for new experiences and a deep calm with which to face them.  It increases psychological flexibility and encourages versatility, pointing out all possibilities and assisting in choosing the right one.  It is physically stabilizing, fortifies the immune system, heals wounds and purifies the blood.

Moonstone – strongly connected to the moon and intuition, this stone is reflective and reminds us of the cycles of change in our lives.  It calms the emotions, enhances psychic abilities and encourages other psychic gifts.  It has a powerful effect upon the female reproductive cycle and it elevates menstrual related dis-ease and tension, balancing the hormonal cycle. 

Moss Agate -- a stabilizing stone that refreshes the soul and enables the ability to see beauty in everything.  It lessens pain and releases spiritual blockages, attracting abundance, improving self-esteem and strengthening positive personality traits. 

Obsidian -- provides a shield against negativity, transforming negative vibrations within an environment.  It is quite useful in healing, providing both the healer and subject with clarity with respect to both the cause and the amelioration of the dis-ease.

Orbicular Jasper -- eliminates toxins, resonates and facilitates circular breathing, instills patience, supports service, and assists in accepting responsibility. 

Prehnite – a stone of unconditional love and one that heals the healer.  It enhances visualization processes and induces deep meditation to contact the Higher Self, putting the bearer in touch with the universe’s energy grid, and is said to connect with the Archangel Raphael and other spiritual and extraterrestrial beings.  It enhances precognition and inner knowing, enables the bearer to always be prepared, attuning to divine energies and showing the bearer the way forward for spiritual growth.  It alleviates nightmares and phobias and is beneficial for hyperactive children and the karmic causes of the condition.  It helps to declutter and organize.  It heals the kidneys and bladder, thymus gland, shoulders, chest and lungs, treating gout, blood disorders, repairing connective tissue.

Red Jade – is the most passionate and stimulating form of jade.  It accesses anger and releases tension in a manner that becomes constructive.

Rose Quartz – is good for the heart.  A stone of unconditional love and infinite peace, it purifies and opens the heart, bringing deep inner healing and self-love and promoting friendship.  It attracts love and loving relationships, drawing off negative energy, strengthening empathy and sensitivity, and enhancing positive affirmations. 

Serpentine – aids mediation and spiritual exploration, opening psychic abilities and understanding the spiritual basis of life.  It corrects mental and emotional imbalances, cleanses and detoxifies the blood and the body.

Smoky Quartz – grounds, anchors, and at the same time raises vibration during mediations.  A protective stone with a strong link to the earth, it is an antidote to stress that fortifies resolve.  It relieves fear, lifts depression and brings emotional calm, dissolving negative emotions. 

Snowflake Obsidian – teaches the value of mistakes as well as success and helps recognize and release stressful mental patterns. 

Strawberry Quartz stimulates the energy center of the heart, filling one’s total person with the feeling of love.  It balances connections between both the astral body and physic system, intrinsic in all.

Tiger’s eye - combines earth energy and sun energy, creating a high vibration state that draws the spiritual energy to earth and grounds simultaneously.  It enhances psychic abilities, protects and assists in accomplishing goals and recognizing inner resources.

Turquoise - to promote spiritual attunement, enhance communications with the spiritual and physical worlds, explore past lives, clear electromagnetic smog. A stone of purification and strength, it helps dispel exhaustion, depression, panic attacks and pollutants in the atmosphere.

Unakite – a stone of vision, it balances emotions with spirituality, provides grounding, and brings a calm and gentle energy.  It releases conditions that inhibit spiritual and psychological growth, reaching the root cause at whatever level.

Variscite – is a stone of encouragement, bringing hope and courage, extremely useful for illness and invalids, and bringing unconditional love.  It is useful for past-life exploration, facilitates visual images of experiences while going deeply into the feelings and experiences of appropriate lives.  It stimulates insights, moves the bearer out of deep despair, does away with pretence, calms nervousness, brings a peaceful heart, and helps to restore depleted energy reserves.  It heals the nervous system; treats abdominal distension and constricted blood flow; regenerates elasticity of veins and skin; neutralizes overacidity; aids gout, gastritis, ulcers, and rheumatism; and relieves cramps.

Lemurian Crystal Information

          Lemurian Crystals embody Unity-One-With-Source-Consciousness.  A lot of the information which can be received from Lemurian crystals is accessed by looking at the patterns and pictures/landscapes/Beings that can be seen through each shaft’s face.   Besides the linear encoding seemingly etched on certain faces, you may find specific geometric patterning which need to be viewed from the opposite face, or a face which gives you a clear angle, as well as looking at the vibrational frequency directly.  Parts of side/sides may appear ‘damaged’, where upon further examination from an opposite face, it actually becomes part of the ‘carved information’ that the crystal embodies.  I have come to believe (actually, know is more accurate) that these were incorporated into the crystal as part of the information to embody the resonance of that which is the connecting link between the Light Worker and his/her crystal partner.  (A magnifying glass often helps in experiencing this information embodied in the smaller Lemurian.) 

            Some crystals have distinct dimensional areas.  Some lead to temples or into initiation chambers.  Some embody dimensional or vibrational frequency steps in their geometric formations (much like interval worlds in music, the vibrational consciousness each essential number incorporates, or timing shifts when tuning a car).  Some have keys, manifestation crystals within them, Angelic Beings, Guides, inner chambers, cities, star systems, universe portals, galactic and/or inter-galactic connections. Some are multi-use healing tools and or self-healed double terminated.

            Examining how the patterns interact with the progression of the face or interconnect one face with one or more others often reveals additional information.  Some are curved, move in a spiral, cross, interweave the faces.  Some are extremely complex and others are pristine in their purity and simplicity. 

            Some of them, I call them “cross-over”, embody both Lemurian and Atlantean consciousness.  They were bridges involved in the thrust towards individuation then and are bridges involved in the active re-cognition of Source consciousness now.  

            Some of the actual faces may embody one or more specific energy patterns.  These include (but are not limited to): Inner Child, Channeling, Libraries, Generator, Receiver-Generator, Isis, master Matrix, Window, Right/Left handed, Soul Mate, Twin Flame, Tantric Twin, Time Link, Transmitter, Receiver, Scanner, Rainbow, Abundance, Comet, Crater, Eight Faceted, Extraterrestrial and Record Keepers.  (Lemurian Record Keepers have lightly reversed etched pyramid formations on the shafts, rather than the more familiar distinct triangular symbol naturally etched in later Record Keepers.  They hold the information prior to individuation from Source consciousness.)

            All aspects of Lemurian crystals reflect aspects of those whom they choose, because it chooses you in your and its “Highest Use, Highest Good.”  It reflects your resonance by the very nature that it picked you to match its resonance.  It is not outside the realm of possibility that you were involved with the very formation of this information to act as a “time link” for you as you reunite with a Lemurian.  In reconnecting with your Lemurian you are recognizing and recommitting to your participation in Unity-One-with-Source-Consciousness with your Lemurian and yourself as an individuated aspect for Source-Consciousness-Evolving.  You will want to meditate with it and have it teach you and work with you in your dreamtime.  Many blessings to your life’s work which can be done together with a Lemurian Seed Crystal.

The Lemurian Incident

A number of months ago I ran across the most interesting woman.  She is a Crystal Keeper in Las Vegas.  Her greatest gift (among many) is the ability to match the vibrational levels of crystals to humans – either for physical healing, emotional balancing, mental stimulation or spiritual enlightenment.  Her first “gift” to me was a Lemurian wand about seven inches in length and weighing eight ounces.   She gave me a fact sheet about Lemurians, which I took home, read through, and then went online to glean more insight into their special properties.  Through these sources, I learned one thing in particular:  No matter what source, the history and uses of Lemurian Seed crystals, although there are no written records, since the crystals are purported to be from a continent that disappeared in the Pacific Ocean before recorded time, remained constant throughout all the information I could find. 

I’ve had an affinity for stones since before I can remember.  When I began researching crystals and their healing and metaphysical purposes again during this past year, my mother reminded me that I used to bring home collections of stones and hide them in boxes, in drawers, on shelves behind books and in the bottom of my closet in my room.  During her spring-cleaning when I was about seven, she’d found them all over the place in my room and had thrown them away, wondering why I was pack-ratting rocks.  When I discovered them missing, I went to her, crying that my “lucky stones” were gone.  She felt so bad that she immediately took me to the park where I’d found most of them and helped me find replacements.  I must have been devastated at the loss of those stones, since I do not remember the incident – I tend to sandbag the bad stuff.  I do remember finding them, especially in the over-grown areas of the old estate across the street from our house.  I wasn’t really supposed to be on the property, but I wasn’t disturbing anyone or anything; and the old lady who lived there never seemed to mind me crawling around in the tree-sized shrubbery to find a private hide-away where I could be alone to read my books and imagine great adventures.  There was a special place there where some of the ancient bushes had grown around so that the tops touched the ground about three feet away from the base of the plant, forming a cave, just big enough for the shortest bookworm in the class to crawl under the boughs and not be concerned with the real world while she stuck her nose in another adventure story or Nancy Drew mystery.  But that is a story for another time.

I also remember that, when our science books (in third grade) had a section on geology, I took some of my prized possessions to school for Show and Tell and asked the teacher if she knew what kind of stones they were.  I clearly remember her and her answer, “Why, those are quartz, honey.  It’s very common around here.”  I told her they were not common, they were Lucky.  She smiled, patted me on the head (which I hate) and told me to go sit down.  I knew that she didn’t understand.   Also, every family vacation took us to at least one novelty store that had cards with stones attached, identifying the stone and from where it was mined.  I made my dad buy me one at every one of those stores.

Back to the recent past – I bought a really good book on crystals, dug out the few remaining boxes of my collection,  now some 35 years dusty, and began to delve more diligently into their respective qualities and to memorize their special features for identification purposes.   The more I read, the more I wanted to know . . . and along came Mickey, the Crystal Keeper.  It couldn’t be a better situation for a maniac like me.  She had stones and knowledge.  I wanted stones and knowledge.  We were a match made in heaven. 

Over the course of the next few months, I visited her several times.  My collection of both stones and information was growing.  I was happy.  Then one night, as I was crawling into bed, I had the strangest vision.  I wasn’t even fully reclined when I began to see a misty horizon.  It was like flying head first into a bank of clouds.  I was fully awake, put my head on the pillow, adjusted my body to stay lying on my back (since I know I can’t sleep in that position) and allowed the vision to flow on it’s own.  As the vision began, my eyes were closed because I was yawning; however, I opened my eyes, could see the vaulted ceiling in my bedroom and the ceiling fan, but the overlaying vision was moving mist.  I settled in my bed to see what this would bring.  After a few minutes I began to see craggy, brown mountain shapes erupting through the mist.  The odd thing was that I was seeing them in geometric patterns, not smooth shapes and clear-cut lines.  It was not blurry.  It was as though I were looking through fly’s eyes – you know, they have numerous “vision portals;” they’re multi-faceted.  I was looking down on mountains made up of small squares, rectangles, triangles, rhomboids, forming a composite mosaic of the image.  As I watched, trees and plants began to emerge in the valleys between the mountains and some of the mist cleared.  Again, it had the mosaic effect -- geometric shapes that formed the basic images of leaves and branches. Throughout the vision, it was as if I were flying, rather slowly, over the creation of a land mass. 

About halfway to the climax – the formation of an ecosystem – I got up, turned on a lamp and went to the bathroom.  During my walk to the other room, the vision stopped.  As soon as I turned off the lamp and lay back down on my bed, it began again – eyes open.  I opened and closed my eyes with exaggerated effort on several occasions to see if this interrupted the vision.  There was no effect, except that, when my eyes were open, the ceiling of my room became the backdrop for the landscape. 

When the vision began to get somewhat soupy, I looked at the clock.  Forty-five minutes had gone by since I had first attempted to get some sleep.  I was still wide-awake at this point and sat up in bed, thinking about what I would do to amuse myself further at 2:30 in the morning, when I noticed a pink glow from the chest of drawers across from my bed.  Knowing that there were two Lemurians strategically positioned on top of the chest, I was not entirely surprised, but I was a little taken aback by the intensity of the radiance.  It was not as though a spotlight covered in baby-blanket pink tint were shining away over there, just a slightly pulsating, pink haze which I had never seen before, though those two crystals had been in their same respective spots during the three week time period prior to this event.   (I had acquired the second Lemurian wand, about half the length and a third the weight, recently from Mickey.)  I looked out the window above the chest.  There was little light coming through -- just the usual street lamp glow.  The moon was not exceptionally brilliant and was well up over the building and shining on the wrong side of the structure for it to have affected the lighting. 

Without turning on any lights, I went to the chest and picked up the two crystals – the larger in my right hand, the smaller in my left – and held them, palms open.  They were glowing.  As I brought them closer together, the glow intensified.  As I moved them apart, the glow subsided.  I tried this three or four times with the same outcome.  I then turned on a lamp.  I began to examine and compare the crystals.  They were nearly identical in shape.  The terminated ends are also nearly the same, as well as the striation lines along three of their sides.  There is an indentation on the side of each crystal.  When they are place together, with the indentations touching, it appears that they, at one time, were growing next to each other in a cluster.  They were mined from the same location – no surprise there.  However, they were shipped (about 8,000 pounds worth) from Brazil in crates, broken down by weight.  They were not shipped in the same crate due to the difference in their weights – BUT BOTH WERE CHOSEN BY MICKEY AND GIVEN TO ME BY HER, WITH INTENT, ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASION, APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS APART.  For those of you not yet schooled in the meaning behind “intent” in this frame of reference, please allow me to explain.  In this instance, intent means that, out of a crate of 50 or more crystals, she purposefully chose a specific crystal for which I was to become the guardian – at two different times, two that look almost exactly alike except for size and weight, from two different crates from a shipment of over 8000 pounds of crystals (most of which weigh less than an ounce).  That’s a lot left up to chance if you ask me.

 About six weeks later, I ran across a cassette tape I had acquired well over 13 years ago.  The label on the tape has long since disappeared.  I was not sure what was on the tape – I was organizing a stack of old tapes while doing some spring-cleaning.  I put the tape in my purse so that I could listen to it in the car on my next trip out.  It turns out that the tape is an excerpt from a weekend seminar of some sort that might have occurred in the late 70’s or early 80’s (a guess from the content).  The guest speaker is discussing crystals – in particular quartz crystals.  He tells his audience about the future (future at that point in time) emergence of Lemurian Seed Crystals and describes the continent of Lemuria as a “mist covered landmass” in what is now the Pacific Ocean.    Oh, you can bet that caught my attention.  I’ve now listened to that tape five times over in order to get any other clues as it might have for me concerning that night’s excursion into the mist.  It is somewhat disappointing, though.  I’m missing part of the seminar.  There was a second tape – which seems to be long lost among several boxes of books, records and tapes (mostly collectibles) that “disappeared” out of the back of my car when I was loading it to move from an apartment into a townhouse in Tucson, Arizona, during the summer of 1993 or 4.  If, per chance, this article finds its way into the hands of the party or parties responsible, I pray that you have at least enjoyed the music and the knowledge contained therein as much as I.  I assume that you needed them more than I did.  Also, if anyone is familiar with a tape series on Quartz Crystals that was made by a man with an extremely thick Scottish brogue (the beginning of the one tape I still have is damaged so I can’t determine the gentleman’s name), please email me at sedona@scpeinc.org and tell me his name and the name of the series of tapes if possible.  I am in the market to purchase the set since I’m really curious about what else he has to say.

So far, this tale is not over.  I’ve had a couple of other visions since.  I’m recording them in a journal so that I can ascertain any trends and to see where this is headed.  I believe that I was given the beginning at the beginning and that they are coming to me in chronological order.  I will report back again.

For most of my life rocks and minerals have fascinated me, so it was no surprise that I  become a collector of these gifts from the earth. My earliest childhood recollections are of picking up any “pretty stones” I happened to come upon. In both grade and high schools my science projects were always on rocks and minerals. I enjoyed doing all the research as I learned to identify stones through the Golden Rock and Mineral books.

As I went along in life and had a family, it was a joy to share the passion of what I had learned about the wonders from Mother Earth with my children. Through the years we took many trips to various collecting areas in Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. These trips resulted in us having a large pile of agates and other “pretty rocks” living on the patio of our home.

As the years passed, my interest and fascination grew. Finally in 1991 I went to work for a company that sold crystal jewelry and I learned even more. I first noticed that different people were drawn to different stones. I began to experiment for myself on myself. I picked up a piece of green gemstone which I thought was Tourmaline. The intense feeling that came from the stone really surprised me. An electric type shock shot up my arm, and it felt like I had a helicopter propeller on the top of my head. When I set the stone down the feelings stopped. I picked it up again and the electric shock and “propeller” returned. The next day I told my boss about my fascinating experience. First I found that I’d been mistaken about the type of stone. Instead of Tourmaline it was actually Moldavite, a very interesting tektite from Moldavia (Czechoslovakia) which would have had a very different effect than Tourmaline.  That fact piqued my interest even more. He then introduced to me to a book about the “energy of the stones” and how they were used to help people heal. This new knowledge filled in a big piece of my life puzzle as I realized that all those years I’d picked up stones because they did make me feel better, calmer, more centered and balanced when I held them. 

Later I had an opportunity to work at a mineral and crystal store. The gentleman I worked with there taught me even more about the rocks I’d loved all of my life. From my own experience I have come to believe each person is attracted to the stone they need most. Interestingly enough, each stone reacts differently to each different person. One type of stone may get very hot in one person’s hand while to the next person it feels very cool. It seems to be the same principle as when our bodies crave certain foods 

In “OUR FRIENDS FROM THE GEM KINGDOM” series I would like to share with you stones that are good to carry on your person, place in your home or car, or give to someone who just needs a little extra something..

Our first FRIEND is Quartz, a hard and durable stone, which man has used for centuries. Quartz comes in a variety of types and colors. The color in quartz comes from the impurities present as the hot silica cools and crystals form and mass.

I’ll start with Clear Quartz Crystals, a fairly common stone  found in the ground in almost all of the states in one form or another. It can be clear crystals, mass rocks, found within other rocks such as granite and as sand. The clearer the Crystal is the fewer impurities it has. It can be shaped into artistic pieces, sharpened to cut or just be enjoyed for the beauty of the Crystals. It can be used as a focusing tool for healing energy or to bring rainbows into a room. Quartz attracts energy, filtering out the bad and amplifying the good. It can be programmed to match the intent of the person using it. In other words, you can ask it for assistance – to help you complete something, attract a new project or to repel unpleasant situations. It can also return any negative energy to the person from whom it came.  Quartz is a silicone amplifier which has quite a variety of uses:

In Radios to improve response to frequency

In Watches for more accurate timekeeping

In Computers as vessels and bowls

In Utensils and Lasers

KYANITE

One of the lesser known, but no less important, stones used in energy work is a beautiful blue stone called Kyanite. Unique Properties:

It is known to not retain any negative energy so can be used to cleanse other stones.

It is often found with Quartz, which amplifies the effectiveness of the soft blue energy.

Its blue color corresponds to the fifth chakra so it is useful for clarity of thought and communication

Often when people who are not used to having so many crystals together in one place come in to Crystal Light Source (the home of Crystal Light Source in Las Vegas, Nevada), the energy they feel is overwhelming. I give them a small piece of Kyanite to smooth out the energy and bring them back into balance.      

On the geological side, Kyanite is also somewhat unique. Along one axis it has a hardness of 2. On the other axis it has a hardness of 7. Beautiful glowing cabochons and faceted stones are cut from the most translucent pieces.

Kyanite with quartz is also found with another stone that strengthens the protective nature of this stone.  Occasionally rubies are found as a part of this beautiful blue, bladed stone.  Blue Kyanite can be used in meditations to soothe and cleanse the chakras. It balances the Yin-Yang energies and can also be used to remove or dispel energy blockages.

There is also Black Kyanite. It is found in wonderfully interlaced fans with much smaller blades. It is believed that if you hold a piece of Black Kyanite in one hand and a piece of Blue in the other that your charkas are spontaneously balanced and aligned.

The Kyanite at Crystal Light Source is available in a variety of sizes from very small to quite large (at 10 plus pounds). It all comes from the beautiful country of Brazil, so some pieces actually contain rubies.
